**Summary/Objective **
Production Control is to monitor production and maintain an active communication line with the production team while implementing the company's policies. This role will work closely with the Production Manager to review the production schedule and ensure it is implemented on the shop floor, monitor company manufacturing procedures, and contribute continuous improvement ideas to optimize workflow.
**Essential Functions **
Complete tasks and conduct behaviors consistent in promoting a standard of excellence.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report any unsafe situations to management or human resources.
In-person, on-site, predictable attendance and punctuality in alignment with the position's scheduled hours
Examine production and collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure compliance with production plans and establish work progress with scheduled work and available human resources.
Provide coverage for tasks of the Production/Inventory Coordinator as needed.
Troubleshoot problems on the shop floor and work with the team to find solutions.
Expedite prioritized hot jobs, rework, and customer requests.
Correspond with suppliers and customers regarding the status of purchase orders, including changes in orders or materials needed.
Record pertinent information in computerized spreadsheets, ERP systems, documents, and computer software as required.
Assist the Production Manager and Plant Manager as needed.
Ability to interact with customers, vendors, and suppliers courteously and professionally in routine correspondence and problem-solving discussions.
Perform procurement and supply chain functions to secure goods and/or services, manage inventories, and reporting requirements for the facility in accordance with purchasing.
Purchase necessary supplies (packaging, greases, cleaning, tooling, etc.) to support shop operations.
Execute support tasks aligned with production KPI's including continuous improvement, performance metrics, and identifying training opportunities.
Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns, and quality problems with supplier purchases.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
Follows all departmental work procedures and company policies.
Participates in maintaining the company's quality system and adheres to standard operating procedures as applicable.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information and determine decision-making criteria based on priorities.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.
Successfully troubleshoot workflow obstacles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with computerized programs and office software.

**Education and Experience **
AA Degree or bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management. However, you may still qualify for this role if you have adequate work experience and a proven record of accomplishment in production management.
At least three years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
