What the position is: As the Production Controller at CommuteAir, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of aircraft maintenance checks and inspections. Reporting to the Director MRO, your responsibilities include coordinating pre-induction meetings, creating work schedules, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of tasks. Your knack for communication will be vital in liaising with different departments, while your leadership and technical expertise will drive compliance with company policies and industry standards. Whether it's organizing daily meetings or preparing reports for senior management, your attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining operational efficiency and safety. Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for conducting aircraft pre-induction meetings as required to ensure that all manpower, tools, parts and required items are/will be available to complete the scheduled Checks, Inspections and Tasks.
  • Prepare a combination/arrangement of routine cards into workplace packages and create a working flow of aircraft inspection by shift, zone, priority, skill, etc.
  • Ensure setting a daily working plan for the open Task Cards and Activities, depending on the resources available.
  • Actively survey the progress of the assigned aircraft work scope, monitoring and coordinating the timely completion of planned activities and making necessary adjustment and corrections in a timely manner.
  • Keep close communication with Materials for the tracking of critical Items required for findings, defining due dates and coordinating alternate means to achieve the target completion date for checks.
  • Prepare reports and metrics to present to Seniors and Supervisors in regular basis, ensuring root cause analysis is performed and action items implemented as they are defined.
  • Organize information and data for the daily meetings where activities are coordinated with Supervisors and Inspectors.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities are performed in accordance with the schedule set and in full compliance with Company Policies, and best practices.
  • After Check completion, review with relevant Parties the Check KPIs; span days, labor for routine and non-routine, major findings, discrepancies noted, problems observed and corrections made.
  • Coordinate and Support the Director MRO with preparation of budget for Mechanics (all specialties/skills) and tools.
  • Oversight the execution of audits of work packages, prior to the aircraft induction and post aircraft return into service.
  • Help to enforce Safety Policies and Procedure, per Company Policies.
  • Participate and support any technical investigation related to the aircraft in C check.
  • Perform other duties assigned/required by the Director MRO.
General requirements & qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (A citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work)
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation related or Engineering field or A&P Certified Mechanic with experience in MROs
  • Knowledge of: Aircraft Maintenance Programs, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and technical knowledge required to perform the duties for this position.
