POSITION: Production Coordinator SUPERVISOR: Production Manager STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $24.00 Hourly The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Production Coordinator oversees work groups to ensure production of food kits and boxes in the Food Rescue Program (FRP), Gleaning Room and other Designat, as assigned. Maintain production by keeping order of all products and workers, ensuring safety and a productive working relationship among warehouse team and volunteers. The candidate must have the drive and initiative to help identify and pursue new potential partners and be able to build a positive working relationship with staff, management/internal team, and external contacts. WHAT YOU'LL DO Production Food Box Preparation & Team Oversight: Prepares/stages work area for workers assigned in FRC/Large Gleaning and breaks down the staging area after production. Ensures product, packaging, labels, equipment, and tools are ready for production by coordinating with the supervisor. Oversees production output during Program kitting days. Packs finished goods into correct packages and places them in the staging area for storage/racking. Places finished goods on designated pallets and ensures proper labeling, sorting, and shrink-wrapping of packages. Notifies warehouse supervisor of any mechanical or material issues. Coordinate efforts with other teams to provide stellar customer experience for workers. Train and oversee workers as assigned. Training, Compliance & Safety: Provides food safety and production-specific training to all workers, ensuring compliance with food and general safety regulations. Conducts orientations and introductions for groups based on product and food kits in production. Works closely with all departments and supervisors to address performance issues, safety concerns, and documentation. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized working area. Performs all work in support of Food Bank values. Coordination, Reporting & Waste Management: Tracks production using daily production logs and prepares poundage reports. Sorts and disposes of product tagged for disposal, tracking waste poundage. Coordinates with other teams to ensure a stellar experience for workers. Aids in monthly inventory as needed. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with diverse groups and prepare e-mails.
  • Good familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products and Google Mail
  • Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and forklifts and able to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to be flexible and open to change, consider alternate work styles to obtain desired outcome
  • Candidates must be empathetic, understanding and personable with the ability to interact professionally with everyone from volunteers to upper level management.
  • Fluent bilingual English/Spanish or third language communication abilities desired.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
  • Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack and/or forklift.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 lbs. regularly throughout the shift.
  • Possess a valid California Driver's License and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Must be able to travel within Los Angeles County as required. Work assignments may include various facilities and hubs across Los Angeles County, including locations in Los Angeles and the City of Industry, CA. Flexibility to commute between Food Bank facilities as needed is essential.
