Production - Grinding Operator - Evergreen Recycling : Job Details

Job Type Full-time Description At Evergreen, a Greenbridge Company, we're in business to change the world. Evergreen was originally founded in 1998 to provide a sustainable, reliable supply of quality polyester resin for parent company Greenbridge Packaging's portfolio of PET strapping. Each year, Evergreen recycles one billion PET bottles, keeping them out of landfills, oceans, rivers, forests, and roadways. We also produce 40 million pounds of recycled PET plastic that goes into new bottles and other products. And, we're working with communities and businesses to buy their trash so it can be recycled, too. We're now in the process of expanding our production capacity of rPET, a move that will nearly double our annual volume of food and non-food grade pellet and flake. Existing pellet lines are being upgraded to solid state processing. There's another important side to Evergreen. We partner with municipal and commercial recycling facilities as well as business and industrial customers, accepting recyclable material and offering rebates for PET bottles and other PET material. This material is then sorted and made ready for other uses. The end goal is to make landfills a thing of the past, help customers achieve sustainability goals and make the circular economy possible for all of us. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

• Sorting of recyclable materials
• Weigh and labeling of unfinished product
• Utilization of inventory management system
• Clean up
• Forklift operation

• Weigh and label pallet boxes of unfinished materials.
• Individuals will run the infeed part of the cleaning line and load out boxes at the end of the line.
• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Report system problems immediately to management.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.

• Safety conscious.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs, carrying and climbing).
• Exhibit the ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.
• Self-starter, great work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Rotating, 12-hour shift schedules on days (7am-7:30pm) and nights (7pm-7:30am)
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements, dust, noise, and large manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
