What You Will Do
The Production Lead role is a career-level Assembly position which focuses on supporting directives from the Management and Planning Teams to support on-time delivery, productivity improvements and day-to-day production support to meet our rate expectations for the different lines that they oversee. This role introduces many of the fundamentals required for the Production Manager position.
Successful candidates are detail oriented and able to leverage their experience in aerospace manufacturing with the soft skills that are required to support and develop direct reports.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Coordinates production team/(s) to meet on-time delivery and daily production rate metrics.
* Identifying productivity improvement opportunities and coordinating with Manufacturing Engineer team for implementation.
* Understanding the strategic and tactical planning set forth by department leadership and taking action to meet those plans.
* In addition, being able to communicate these plans clearly and concisely to the production team, as it pertains to their individual roles.
* Ownership of the first-pass yield and hourly rate on the production lines.
* Facilitate training opportunities using written, visual, and mixed media training materials.
* Managing and updating the cross-training matrix to support training initiatives.
* Regular public speaking in team- and leadership-meeting settings.
* Practicing Lean Manufacturing principles daily.
* Maintain high ethical standards for yourself and your team.
* Understand and live by Korry's culture.
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
* Requires 4+ years production experience in Aerospace manufacturing.
* Prior leadership experience (managing more than 10 direct reports) is preferred.
Specialized Skills and Abilities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
* Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently to meet goals.
* Able to perform root cause analysis when production rates are not met and manage staff to mitigate production rate shortfalls.
Physical Requirements:
* Lifting up to 50-lbs may be required.
* Periodic standing, sitting, and walking.
Work Environment:
* This position is for Day Shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.
* Must be available for overtime, as needed.
* The ambient noise level is low on Swing Shift, but hearing protection is provided, upon request.
* This job is performed in a professional manufacturing environment.
Salary Range
Please note the typical hiring range is $32.00 - $45.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
