The Lead person directs and assists in the work activities of department employees. The Lead person performs a variety of manufacturing assignments, which involves filling in where needed. and also ensures all production personnel strictly adheres to Safety Standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform manual production tasks such as packaging/palletizing, material staging, blending and/or cleaning/sanitizing.
· Oversee the day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all safety rules and OSHA regulations are observed at all times by all employees.
· Work with Shift Supervisor in the assignment and supervision of personnel in order to achieve an efficient operation at all times.
· Assists production personnel in analyzing and correcting problems encountered in job assignments in order to perform work according to standard operating procedures.
· Supporting role for Shift Supervisor while away.
· Assist with the training of new employees
· Provide orderly and efficient changeover between products.
· Organize and scheduled work assignments to achieve maximum efficiency and meet processing objectives. Achieve all department goals (KPI's). Communicate reasons targets are not met.
· Review formula sheet and all other required documentation for errors or omissions and have corrections made as necessary before shift ends.
· Inspecting work area for unsafe conditions or work hazards.

o Thorough working knowledge of all operating areas of his/her respective department
o Ability to follow written and oral instructions
o Ability to perform to specified work standards and procedures
o Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
o Must be able to work independently
o Must be able to multi task and able to work in a fast paced environment
o Must maintain constant communication with production management
o Must be able to cooperate and communicate effectively with personnel
o Maintain a clean and organized work space
