JOB TITLE: Production CoordinatorDEPARTMENT: UpholsteryFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptLOCATION: Plant 5SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Friday 6:00 am - 11:30 pmOvertime may be required beyond the posted work schedule and may vary on a weekly basisSummary:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Coordinator to ensure that the upholstery and trimming teams have all necessary supplies at their workstation for continuous and efficient production. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage, organize, and deliver essential materials to the production line, ensuring the upholsterers and trimmers do not have to leave their stations to retrieve supplies. This role is key to maintaining a smooth workflow, minimizing downtime, and enhancing overall productivity on the production floor.Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain a constant supply of materials such as edge rope, glue, tack bands, feet, staples, and other essential items used in upholstered furniture production.
  • Continuously track supply levels for all production materials and proactively replenish supplies before they run low to prevent production interruptions.
  • Organize materials for upholsterers and trimmers in a way that allows them to easily access what they need without leaving their stations.
  • Ensure that any additional materials or tools needed by the production team are delivered promptly to their workstations to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Ensure that tools and smaller equipment required for the production process are readily available, well-maintained, and stocked for use.
  • Assist with organizing the production floor, ensuring that workstations are properly set up with everything needed for the upholsterer and trimmer to be productive throughout their shifts.
  • Work closely with the upholsterers, trimmers, and production managers to ensure that material needs are met and to address any supply chain issues or shortages quickly.
  • Ensure that all supplies meet quality standards and are properly stored to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory, track materials usage, and report any discrepancies or material shortages to the production supervisor.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in the handling and distribution of materials, including the proper use and storage of adhesives, chemicals, and other potentially hazardous items.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in upholstery, furniture manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Ability to use inventory management software or basic data entry systems.
  • Basic knowledge of upholstery tools and materials
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and materials simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are available and organized in a timely manner.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, as well as to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with production teams to meet their needs.
  • Ability to identify supply shortages or production bottlenecks and quickly find solutions to keep the production line moving.
  • Understanding of safety standards and the ability to follow and enforce safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
