We are seeking a Production Maintenance Technician in our Philadelphia, PA facility. This role is the primary technical interface for maintenance, repair, and construction of production machinery. As a member of our Facilities Team, the Production Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of routine maintenance activities, essentially ensuring that the facility's infrastructure operates safely, properly and without any unplanned interruption(s).
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Collaborate with a diverse team including engineers, technicians, management, vendor partners and others to perform all assigned responsibilities safely, promptly, effectively, and efficiently
* Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and evaluate, troubleshoot, and perform corrective maintenance, of facilities infrastructure systems and equipment
* Assist with the installation of new, and the modification of existing, building equipment and systems
* Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, laws, as well as Coherent A&D policy, procedures and practices, related to building operations and working safely
* Evaluate and recommend preventative maintenance and proper operation of machines to ensure maximum machine up-time
* Perform preventative maintenance tasks when necessary
* Assure proper operation of company's HVAC, water plant, sprinkler, electrical and other utility systems
* Work with Manufacturing Engineering as a liaison to facilitate completion of department specific projects or equipment modifications
* Maintain awareness of company policies and procedures
Education & Experience
* Vocational or technical education preferred. As well as journeyman level experience with repair & maintenance of production equipment
* Minimum 8+ years direct professional maintenance experience, preferably in facilities environment
Skills
* Knowledge of HVAC, vacuum coating equipment systems, coating chambers, kilns, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as vendor partners, at any given time
* Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate with most levels of the organization
* Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and technology such as smart phones, tablets, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
* Fluency in reading and evaluating operating and maintenance instructions as well as construction drawings (e.g. architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.) and specifications

Physical Requirements
Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time. 50 - 75% of the time.
Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
