For more information, visit SunOpta and LinkedIn .SunOpta is looking for talented individuals that demonstrate our most valued behaviors: Passion, Dedication, Speed, Entrepreneurship, Customer-Centricity, and Problem-Solving, to help create a brighter, healthier, and sustainable future of food!Job Summary:Production Maintenance Technician (Nights) - we are seeking qualified individuals with proven maintenance skills.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Efficient maintenance and repair of all extraction, filling, mix-blend, and production equipment.Conducts preventative maintenance.Troubleshooting.Assisting with other projects as assigned reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs planned, corrective, and unplanned maintenance on specified equipment.Uses available documentation for equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Ensure safety in the workplace by eliminating unsafe conditions.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Supports Quality Systems.Protect Company assets by the direct intervention of any condition resulting in the abuse of equipment or buildings.Executes the preventive maintenance program as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.Maintains communication (oral and written) within the maintenance team to ensure smooth shift transitions.Other duties, as assigned or required.Key Accountabilities:Technical ability - understand manufacturing equipment and processes.Detail Orientation - breaks large tasks into small parts and understands the small parts that make up the whole.Business Acumen- aligns work with plant goals.Judgment- Exhibit's sound and accurate judgment.Motivation- Sets and achieves challenging goals; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; measures self against standard of excellence; takes calculated risks to accomplish.Planning/Organizing- Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently.Professionalism- Approaches others in a tactful manner, treats others with respect and consideration, accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments.Quality- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.Adaptability- Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands, changes approach or method to best fit the situation, able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Dependability- Follow instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Initiative- Volunteers readily; undertakes self-development activities; seeks increased responsibilities; asks for and offers help when needed.Innovation- Displays original thinking and creativity; meets challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GED.Two or more years related experience in a food grade facility.Ability to understand/apply general mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.Preferred Qualifications:Aseptic processing and high-speed form/fill/seal packaging experience.Ability to apply concepts such as factions and percentages.Knowledge of business software, and manufacturing software (HMIs, PLCs, and manufacturing controls).Self-starter with ability to work in a team-based environment.Additional Considerations:Location: This role will be at the SunOpta Plant in Allentown, PA.Shift: This position will be a night shift role, 5:30 pm to 6:00 am. 2-2-3 rotation. 36 hours one week/48 hours the next week, includes every other weekend.
