Miller's Textile Services is currently hiring for a Production Manager on 3rd shift to join our team at our Wapakoneta, Ohio location. The Production Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of employees on their designated shift. The ideal candidate for this position will be available to work 10 hour days, 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday, 6:30 pm to 5:00 am) as their primary shift, but must be available to work 8 hour days, 5 days per week (Sunday to Thursday, 6:30 pm to 3:00 am) on an as needed basis.At Miller's Textile Services, we believe that by investing in people it provides them with the tools for success. - Work side by side with your shift supervisors to ensure that our products are processed in a timely and efficient manner
- Direct and coordinate activities of shift supervisors and employees on your shift
- Monitor for and report any issues related to quality, product quantity, or safety
- Ensure that quality checks are performed and standards are maintained
- Control plant costs by ensuring efficient production process and hold team accountable to production standards
- Communicate effectively with team, fellow managers, and other departments
- Address equipment issues, product needs, or staffing problems that impact production
- Responsible for timekeeping and progressive discipline of team members
- Work is generally performed in a production/manufacturing environment
- Position reports to and works closely with the plant Production Manager
- Other related duties as assigned to support the production team
What are the minimum qualifications?
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, college degree in management preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of prior supervision experience required in a manufacturing environment, 5 years preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Must be proficient in MS Outlook for email communications
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be capable of standing and walking on feet for duration of shift
- Must be able to work independently and make decisions
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
