Production Manager - Warby Parker : Job Details

Warby Parker is looking for an experienced and exceptional Production Manager to join our core management team in our Sloatsburg lab. These team members will oversee a high-performing team of manufacturing employees and all job production within the department. What you'll do: Oversee all job production in our production department, from picking, edging to completed job shipmentOwn key metrics for the facility, including production safety incidents, breakage/quality deviations, OEE, and labor efficiency to meet production and cost goalsMaintain a safe working environment by supporting the creation (and then overseeing the training) of a comprehensive health and safety program for the facility; you'll also partner with the management team to ensure the facility is meeting all local, state, and federal OSHA requirementsManage, coach, mentor and develop employees through routine meetings to discuss individual and department performance and goalsCollaborate with the Maintenance team by alerting the need for improvements in our equipmentResolve bottleneck issues that arise during production and maintain continuous production flow by making the necessary talent changes to meet productions goalsManage and report on safety, quality perform and material waste for the department Identify additional opportunities to continuously improve production objectives Foster a collaborative environment with team members within the manufacturing operations team, leading by example and following our core valuesActively participate in the training and development activities for production employees, including onboarding, technical training, and ongoing refreshers to ensure compliance with department SOPs and process work instructionsWho you are:Equipped with 5+ years of production experience in a high-volume operationExtensive people management experience in an industrial environment, having previously lead diverse groups of 75+ associates; you enjoy teaching and training and are able to resolve personnel issuesObsessive about safety and quality with a continuous improvement mindsetA positive team leader (and exceptional team player!) who can quickly build respect within their team and across stakeholder groupsExtra credit:Lean Six Sigma, TPM and Continuous Improvements tools certificationPrevious experience working on regulated productsBilingual in English and SpanishHas worked in a large optical lab; knowledge of ANSI standards and edging processExperience with made to assemble productionCPR certifiedSome benefits of working at Warby Parker for full-time employees:Health, vision, and dental insuranceLife and AD&D InsuranceFlexible vacation policyPaid HolidaysRetirement savings plan with a company matchParental leave (non-birthing parents included)Short-term disabilityEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Bereavement SupportEducation ReimbursementFree eyewearAnd more (just ask!)Warby Parker, in good faith, believes that the posted salary range is accurate for this role in New York at the time of posting. Warby Parker may pay more or less than the posted range based on factors such as relevant experience and skills, qualifications and location, among others. This range may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible to receive a cash bonus and an equity bonus as part of the total compensation package.
