Our client, a growing, well-established Fortune 500 company in the greater Indianapolis area, is seeking candidates for an experienced Production Manager. This position manages the activities of 7 direct reports and up to 200 indirect hourly and salaried employees in their medium sized, non-union manufacturing facility. The general schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:00a - 5:00p with flexibility needed on occasion. Visibility on night and weekend shifts as needed. The plant will become a climate-controlled facility in the coming months. Relocation assistance will be offered for candidates outside of the area. Primary Duties:
- The Production Manager is responsible for managing the overall plant production in achieving Safety, Quality, Service, and Productivity standards. This is a hands-on role with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.
- This role will own the process - develop others and maintain standards across the organization, provide leadership to the team, manage systems, equipment, people, and materials according to established policies, procedures, and specifications
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and champion a safety culture, conduct incident investigations, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards
Team Management:
- Develop and administer managerial training, oversee production associates' development, evaluate performance, and implement development plans for direct reports
Production Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day operations, monitor production metrics, provide input on production schedules, and ensure manufacturing SOPs meet quality and safety standards
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure products meet quality standards, oversee routine quality control checks, and collaborate with quality assurance teams
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improvements, work with engineering personnel to develop capital appropriation requests, and implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles
Reporting and Documentation:
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of production records, reports, and documentation
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Materials Science or other closely related discipline
- 3 or more years of proven experience in a production management role in manufacturing environment
- Injection blow molding experience preferred but NOT required
- FDA background preferred but NOT required
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, able to build a team and inject structure into the culture
- Possess strong business acumen and guided by continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range $155,000 - 175,000 plus up to 10% performance bonus
