Production Manager - Omya AG : Job Details

BASIC FUNCTION:

Manage and coordinate all production and process activities to meet plant shipping demands in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage daily work schedules to maintain adequate resources.

* Manage production operations to assure the processing equipment is operating in an optimal manner. Continuously monitor QC data (i.e. run charts, histograms, etc.) to ensure quality product is produced. Reduce process variation through the use of statistical process control (LIMS).

* Maintain bill of material (BOMs) and recipes in SAP for all products. Assist with month end close activities.

* Maintain a clean and orderly environment using tools such as 5S, walk-by inspections, etc.

* Maintain contact with maintenance, and automation teams to monitor/update the status of equipment. Actively participate in weekly maintenance coordination meetings and schedule equipment Preventive Maintenance accordingly. Write work-orders to promote high reliability.

* Implement improvements and/or modifications for operations, equipment utilization, and related matters to optimize production efficiency.

* Manage, coordinate, and monitor Process Improvement Testing and Document Results

* Promote growth and development of team through training, coaching and annual MBO process.

* Actively participate in the Quality, Safety, and Environmental Systems internal audits, documentation, and reporting.

* Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years in an industrial environment or commensurate education and experience. Strong staff management skills required. Must be able to deal with frequent interruptions and prioritize jobs and be able to concentrate for long periods on complex projects. Must have exceptional communication and written skills.
