SUMMARY
The Production Manager function is to manage sections within division with the emphasis on improving quality, cost, delivery, productivity, safety and morale as well as daily management of supervisors to ensure customer deliveries are not interrupted and quality issues are corrected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of a production department.
* Develops manpower loading requirements based on production guidelines.
* Sets priorities for production schedules based on new product introduction, efficiency and materials supply.
* Directs the work efforts of multiple supervisors.
* Makes budget recommendations on capital expenditures and labor.
* Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Manager manages all employees of the production department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Toyota Production System experience a plus
Proficiency with problem solving
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive industry experience a plus
Communication skills verbal, written, and group presentations
Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
Analytical/problem-solving skills
Leadership skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem-solving skills required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division is necessary. The ability to express numbers as a decimal, convert numbers into percentages and from percentages to whole numbers, ability to express numbers as a fraction and perform basic math operations using positive and negative numbers and as ratios or averages.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Experience using Microsoft office systems, Excel and Word
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, First Shift - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
