Production Manager – Raw Materials

Location: Reading, PA

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to oversee their Raw Materials operations. This position offers the opportunity to manage key processes, drive innovation, and make a significant impact in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the activities of the Raw Materials Department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Lead scrap/revert management, including collection, processing, and inventory accountability.
• Coordinate scrap logistics across multiple locations, ensuring optimal value and efficiency.
• Develop and execute plans for scrap preparation, processing, and reuse, supporting critical production processes.
• Collaborate with purchasing and planning teams to maintain appropriate scrap inventory levels.
• Drive process improvements to enhance scrap preparation and material handling systems.
• Oversee slag processing facilities and manage the sale of excess or obsolete materials.
• Set and achieve department goals, monitor progress, and make adjustments to ensure success.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to department staff.
• Manage departmental budgets and recommend innovative equipment and process solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, including 5+ years in leadership roles (Raw Materials experience is a MUST)
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to manage complex technical information.
• A results-driven mindset with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
