Operations Manager/ Segment Manager

Goals:

(fundamental objectives for orientation of the employee)

  • Ensure that the correct production methods are used within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Organization and optimization of the work flow within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring/optimizing the production quality within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Expert and disciplinary leadership of the subordinate employees.
  • Adhering to the instructions for safety and environmental protection.

Tasks:

(important primary responsibilities in logical order)

  • Ensuring and monitoring the continuous fulfillment of the production program within the assigned area of responsibility regarding quality, quantity, scheduling and economic efficiency.
  • Initiating Shopfloor management processes within own area of responsibility and control and implement these as well as executing the success control procedure. - derive standards if applicable.
  • Ensuring the organizational workflow within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring and adhering to all valid work instructions within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring the qualitative and quantitative achievement of objectives within the assigned area of responsibility using problem solving techniques and goal-oriented analysis and action plans.
  • Ensuring the adherence of the prescribed quality standards and quality features in the running production process as per valid QM system.
  • Appoint employees according to their knowledge and skills and continuous professional further qualification of employees within own area of responsibility.
  • Creating a personnel schedule and negotiate it with superiors.
  • Conducting interviews with new hires and selecting new employees for his area of responsibility.
  • Organize and improve the use of personnel, operating equipment and materials according to criteria of economical efficiency and scheduling situation.
  • Creating budget plans and investment approaches as well as monitoring and reviewing the cost development within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Participating in the new creation and modification of work systems, production changes and production processes as well as implementation of his own experiences and suggestions for design.
  • Defining and adapting leadership tasks in the framework of objective agreement and tasks at hand. Checking work results and discuss these in employee meetings.
  • Ensuring good communication across all interfaces.
  • Observation of the adherence to safety regulations, environmental protection provisions and other legal conditions and regulations.
  • Reporting the production results of the assigned area of responsibility to the management of the GF.

Competencies:

  • Access to all relevant IT systems (SAP, Babtec, etc.).
  • Participating in the wages/salary development within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Controlling and prioritizing tasks in the special departments within the production areas.
  • Signing authority under the signature scheme of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the continuous fulfillment of the production program within the assigned area of responsibility regarding quality, quantity, scheduling and economic efficiency.
  • Responsible for the disciplined and professional management of subordinate employees/apprentices including their qualifications.
  • Responsible for the development and achievement of key figures within the area of responsibility.
  • Obligation to inform the management of the GF and technology management regarding all relevant production events.
  • Cost center responsibility

Environmental conditions of the workplace:

  • Combined workplace in production/office/machine, where the safety and environmental regulations of the company are to be observed.

Education requirements:

  • Completed university degree as an engineer/economic engineer or completed apprenticeship or further education degree as a state-certified technician (m/f) or an industry master (m/f).

Professional experience:

  • Several years of experience in production for the automotive supply industry.
  • Experience with International Companies (ideally European)
  • Knowledge and understanding of lean management/ strategies
  • Experienced in the leadership and development of employees.
  • Business management knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of MSOffice, SAP, Babtec, etc.
  • Good English language skills. German and/or Spanish is a plus.
