Responsible for ensuring quality and packaging of CertainTeed Corner products in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining high productivity and a low scrap rate. Maintain a positive team environment and a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement. Qualified in Operator and Tail-Off position to a limited product set as defined below.ESSENTIAL DUTIESWorking Safe. Follows procedures, checklists, and safety protocolsQualified to Tail-Off a production line producing: NoCoat O/S 90, NoCoat 325, Levelline O/S 90, Levelline Flex,Qualified to Operate a production line producing: NoCoat O/S 90, NoCoat 325, Levelline O/S 90, Levelline FlexInspect products for flaws and defects, immediately alert the team of any problems or defects immediately, and package each product correctlyKeep lines and production floor clean and free of debris and stocked for incoming shiftsComplete all necessary paperwork (i.e. work orders), read and understand specifications for all productsKeep supervisors, operators, and other teammates informed of all problems or relative production concernsBuild boxes, clean and maintain printers, keep track of tools and equipment, and ensure all needed supplies are availableWork closely with team members to be more efficient, troubleshooting problems and helping find new or better solutionsParticipate in and promote continuous improvement ideasSet up and have the ability to start up a production line from idle to a run stateLOTO trained (Lock Out/Tag Out)Knowledge and ability to use appropriate quality inspection tools to ensure quality and reproducibilityAble to perform warehouse checksWORKING CONDITIONSLong hours are sometimes necessary to meet deadlines. Night shift work is required for some candidates. The working environment will include extended periods of standing and seasonal temperature extremes occur during peak summer months. These environments may include exposure to industrial solvents, above-average noise levels, and hazardous materials, all of which must be mitigated with Personal Protective Equipment.A high school diploma or GED is requiredBasic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills requiredManual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computersManufacturing-related experience preferredMinimum English language competency to adequately perform duties and responsibilities (written & verbal)Familiar with safety programs in a manufacturing environmentAbove average time management skillsEngagement towards facility safety and continuous learningExcellent attendanceExperience following protocols and proceduresAbility to communicate within a team environmentAbility to retain and retrieve technical information in a fast-paced environmentExperience working within a Lean culture (5s, Kaizen, Process improvement contributions)Innovative approach to problem solvingPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards, whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require bending, lifting materials weighing up to 50lbs twisting, gripping, reaching, and fine manipulation.
