PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, use of fine motor skills, reaching and lifting 30 lbs.; periodically may be asked to lift as much as 50 lbs. 100
- Occasional foot use, carrying, push/pulling, climbing, below the waist work, balancing, and forceful motion.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, all employees must be able to demonstrate:
- They have obtained a High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or are willing to obtain GED.
- Basic communication skills, including oral and written communication, reading, shop math, and computer literacy.
- That they are detail oriented, have basic problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work well with other employees and contribute to a positive team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
While not required to be hired, all successful employees in this job will have or learn the following:
- Ability to drive a forklift truck.
- Overhead crane operation
- Ability to use quality measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, attribute gauges, etc.).
- Competent with Charter's statistical process control (SPC) system.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
Production
- Adjust, troubleshoot, maintain, and operate multiple pieces of equipment.
- Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventative maintenance as required.
- Diligently ensure that stock and finished goods are not mixed.
- Move material, product, supplies, etc., and transact material movements as required.
- Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with shipping procedures/practices.
Safety
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
- Identify potential safety risks with equipment and ensure safety devices are operational and functional.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area (sweep, mop, scrub, paint, basic janitorial, restock supplies, etc.).
Quality
- Complete quality control paperwork.
- Check specifications of parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment as required following established procedures.
- Recognize quality and quantity requirements and meet goals pertaining to those requirements.
Continuous Improvement and Culture
- Communicate issues and critical information to supervisors and others as is relevant or required.
- Optimize performance of production equipment, mitigating risk of internal and external customer quality related issues.
Act as a trainer, mentor, and role model to other employees
