Production/Packaging/Material Handling - WorkSmart Group : Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Properly and safely set up equipment to run material

• Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing

• Verify that the product meets set up specifications and record measurements

• Assist in the packaging of material

• Properly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructions

• Perform equipment preventive maintenance

• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment

• Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education

• Previous warehouse experience

• Previous forklift experience

• Ability to read and write

• Perform basic math skills

• Use of computer

• Nice To Have, But Not Required:

• Previous metals industry experience

• Previous crane operator experience

• Things To Consider:

• Standing on concrete floor for 8-10 hour shifts

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

• Work environment – hot in summer & cold in winte

• Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material

• Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality

• Perform general clean-up

• Assist in any activities related to lean and/or quality
