GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a member of the Scheduling team and under the supervision of the Director, Commercial Operations, the Production Planner is responsible for creating and completing the daily Production plan, including helping to build this plan, and collaborate with all departments involved throughout the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule daily/weekly production plan for all production lines based on open production orders and provided demand forecast
- Coordinate Weekly Capacity & Labor Plan within shared group; communicate to stakeholders and management on possible exposure
- Active participate on the S&OP forecast process, responsible for building and aligning 3 month forecast by brand/product group based on sales and marketing plan input
- Work with the marketing/sales to ensure new product launch volumes are properly planned. Monitor early-life sales and adjust forecasts promptly as required – particularly for high-value and high-variance SKUs. Review monthly statistical output based supported by S&OP output.
- Maintain accuracy scorecard based planned versus actual; provides reasons why production was not met or has surpassed.
- Communicate constraints/delays to sales, operations, production team, etc.
- Maintain Post Production Reporting, manage Yield adjustment percentages on Grinds and Cuts
- Co-Manage Microwave Schedule and TTC Scheduling (Transfer to Cooler).
- Must have the Ability to pivot, make logical decisions within in a changing environment.
- Ability to calculate basic math equations, Ex. yields calculations,
- Work Cross-Functionally with Supply and Production based on realistic forecast trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management within scope and ability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations/Supply Chain Operations, or related experience in same industry
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong continuous improvement skills and ability to research problems and develop solutions
- Ability to produce ad-hoc reporting, as needed
- Expert Excel Knowledge required
- ERP/MRP knowledge preferred
- Power BI Knowledge preferred
- Production Planning Modules experience a plus
- Experience with planning modules preferred, e.g. Demand Solutions, Logility, etc.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to team and across different departments of the business
- Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data
- Ability to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance by staff
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of staff
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment
- Understand and abide by all safety regulations, SOPs, GMP guidelines, as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA
