Description Tehachapi Cement, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planning Assistant to streamline production processes, maximize resource utilization, and maintain accurate production schedules. This role will play a critical part in supporting the production team by optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with safety and organizational standards.Responsibilities:
- Month-End Financial Closing: Perform month-end financial closing activities for Production work, including internal drone surveys.
- Production Scheduling: Collaborate with upper plant management to develop accurate and achievable weekly schedules. Communicate with the Production Manager regarding MRP (Material Requirements Planning) requirements.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with Company safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations. Conduct required inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
- Business Analysis: Analyze major business functions and provide recommendations for business solutions.
- Cost Monitoring: Prepare the Fuel and Energy Report for cost analysis to improve decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
- Meeting Coordination: Prepare for and facilitate the daily morning meetings to coordinate production activities.
- Project Leadership: Lead local projects and coordinate with Tehachapi and Lima staff to drive changes and project completion.
- Budget Assistance: Assist in preparing operation forecasts for budget purposes to optimize costs.
- Production Planning: Plan and assist all production department work, including materials required to accomplish the job. Create new materials and add them to equipment bills of material in SAP. Create process orders and notifications.
- Repetitive Production Plans: Develop and maintain repetitive production plans in SAP that account for demand management, while monitoring plant operations to address urgent and ongoing production needs.
- SAP Training and Support: Design and facilitate SAP training guides and programs for local employees. Test system functionality and support end users with technical and application-related SAP questions.
- Production Prioritization: Prioritize new production requests and incorporate them into daily/weekly schedules.
- Production and Reliability Reporting: Compile reports on reliability, efficiency, production rates, utilization, and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) data.
- Month-End Support: Prepare DOR (Daily Operations Report) and provide SAP support during month-end discrepancies for plant operations.
- CBA Administration: Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including participation in disciplinary and grievance processes.
- SAP Coordination: Interface with Lima and other SAP personnel on programming and access changes to ensure proper coordination and understanding.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in an analyst role. Prior experience in cement, heavy equipment, mining, or petrochemical industries is preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Previous experience in planning, production management, and analyst roles. Proficiency in SAP and production scheduling software is essential.
- Communication: Strong communication skills for interfacing with multiple stakeholders and ensuring the integration of production needs into daily schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Leadership: Ability to lead projects, drive process improvements, and provide training and guidance to staff.
