Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & SchedulingCreate and adjust production schedules based on demand, inventory, and staffing.Work with supply chain teams to ensure materials are available and prevent delays.Manage changes to schedules due to equipment issues or staffing needs.Process ImprovementAnalyze workflows to identify and fix inefficiencies.Use Lean methods (e.g., 6S, Kaizen) to streamline processes and reduce waste.Lead improvement projects to boost productivity and quality.Capacity & Resource ManagementReview plant capacity and equipment use to meet production goals.Suggest changes to staffing, shifts, or equipment to optimize production.Develop models to anticipate future production needs.Inventory & MaterialsSet inventory policies to balance supply and demand.Monitor inventory levels to reduce excess stock and carrying costs.Support efficient material planning strategies like Kanban or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).Cost & Performance TrackingAnalyze production costs and identify savings opportunities.Monitor key metrics (e.g., cycle time, defect rates) to guide improvements.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.Support new product launches with insights into feasibility and production adjustments.Host regular meetings to align on production goals and address challenges.Quality & ComplianceAddress quality issues using tools like 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams.Ensure processes meet industry and safety standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).Focus on reducing defects and improving product quality.Training & DevelopmentTrain staff on updated processes and safety procedures.Develop materials and lead workshops to improve team skills in Lean and quality practices.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering; certifications in Lean Six Sigma are a plus.Experience: At least 5 years in production planning or manufacturing, preferably in high-volume industries.Skills:Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
