Description Production Process Engineering Manager Pallidus, Inc., is a fast-growing producer of large diameter Silicon Carbide wafers for high power and high frequency semiconductor applications in Transportation, Green Energy, Telecommunication, and Industrial markets. Pallidus' M-SiCâ„¢ technology delivers step change improvements in SiC quality and cost effectiveness to drive wafer to device yield performance. Pallidus is a high energy, technology driven, and innovative startup company looking for like-minded people to join our team. Position located onsite in the Albany, NY manufacturing facility. SCOPE This role supports the daily needs of the Production Process Engineering Team related to manufacturing Silicon Carbide wafers in the Albany NY location. The ideal Production Process Engineering Manager has experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment continually improving manufacturing processes. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and address safety risks within the production environment.
  • Provide leadership to the production process engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high performing work environment.
  • Oversee and coordinate engineering projects from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery of reliable and deployable products and systems.
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Encourage and support the team in exploring innovative ideas, conducting research, and developing state-of-the-art technology.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as product management, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, research and development and quality to reduce costs and ensure seamless product development and delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, assisting in problem-solving and resolving complex technical challenges
  • Project forecasting and reporting
  • Track the established Key Performance Indicators, including milestones, associated with a given project
  • Ability to develop and monitor process data and respond appropriately to maintain quality, yield and productivity.
  • Lead root cause analysis and assist with Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) to provide recommendations for improvements and corrective actions.
  • Working with external vendors to vet new technologies and demonstrate performance
  • Ability to define new equipment requirements, work closely with Equipment Engineering to establish equipment specifications.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Lead cross functional teams to meet specific department and company goals.
  • Create, understand, follow, and maintain detailed procedures and documentation. Provide support and feedback to audits by customers, ISO, and internal auditors.
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting of production tools.
  • Independently determine priorities and balancing daily process/production support, project related tasks and outside department requests.
  • Mentor other Engineers to continually improve overall Engineering Performance.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Similar
  • 5 -10 years' experience in manufacturing required.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams, with a strong record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing
  • Statistical data skills: SPC, JMP, Minitab
  • Practical experience applying structured problem-solving methods.
  • Familiarity working in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Commitment to effective communication.
  • Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution
  • Must be a US Citizen or be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements
Pay Range $120,000.00 None to $145,000.00 None
