Position: Production Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $20/hour

Experience: Experience in food quality is preferred

Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Flexibility is required, shift days and hours vary based on tasks assigned (5-day work week)

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Production Quality Assurance Technician to join a growing and dynamic team! The QA technician will help ensure food safety and customer satisfaction of all products within the processing facility.

Job Description:

• Perform pre-operational, in-process and post-operational checks throughout the produce-processing center
• Perform sanitation checks including ATP swab tests and concentration checks
• Monitor HACCP critical control points/FSMA preventative controls
• Perform quality evaluations on finished products/raw materials and shelf life testing
• Sample products using aseptic technique
• Perform laboratory tests including titration, pH and brix/acid tests
• Perform daily quality control tasks
• Monitor pest control
• Maintain inventory of supplies
• Recommend, champion and execute program enhancements

Position Requirements:

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
• Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail functions
• Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions
• Supports the company's philosophy of innovation and change management by contributing to process improvements
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized manner with strong attention to detail
• Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for extended periods of time
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability and visual acuity
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
