Job Accountabilities:Crown CAPP Division USA – Aurora plant is seeking a Production Scheduler. As a key member of the team, the Production Scheduler will work closely with the Production Planning Manager to monitor and identify opportunities for lead-time improvement. This person will establish effective communication with various groups such as sales offices, customer service reps and/or plant production departments as required. This position will also ensure the systems data integrity and accuracy of production/planning reports as required. This is a salaried position in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment where compliance to all safety policies, procedures and regulations is our way of doing business. We are looking for team-oriented individuals who are committed to customer quality, continuous improvement and achieving World Class Performance.Day to day responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:Assists/Coordinates in Developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical dataInteracting with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments.Managing volume and manufacturing location changes between factories as needed to meet customer requirementsMonitoring inventories in an effort to minimize costs and achieve Plant inventory goalsOverseeing development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability for the DivisionMaintaining accurate needs attention and obsolete inventory and implement measures for improvementTracking/analyzing data and producing required reportsUpdating and maintaining the planning production systemInterface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issuesCoordinates with the manufacturing floor to actively manage the production schedule.Follows and audits production orders through the production process to ensure the proper schedule is followedMonitors manufacturing system transactions for accuracy and works with leaders to correct discrepancies and eliminate the fundamental causes of the problemsCoordinates material delivery with inventory to support manufacturing schedule. May examine material delivered to production to verify conformance to specificationsCompiles records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materialsPerforms system transactions to report movement of material between manufacturing operations and into finished goodsMonitors daily progress of manufacturing orders, quality, service, and delivery issues and issues corrective actions as neededPlans and schedules production orders based on established priorities and the availability of required materials and capacity. Follows up to determine actual performance versus estimates.Assembles work order packets complete with work order router, completion dates, and instructions for subsequent operations.Maintain the capacity report so that it can be used as a tool in the planning and scheduling process inventory levels and additional metric reports for ManagerProvide excellent customer service to visitors in person and over the phoneMaintain supply and order plant office suppliesPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedRequirements include:Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook with a strong emphasis on Excel and linked spreadsheetsHigh School/GED required. Additional education a plusMust possess effective oral and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organizedMust have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines5+ years in administrative/customer service.
