PURPOSE:
The Production Scheduler is essential to facilitating the workflow to the shop floor, maintaining a smooth operating environment, and communicating the daily priorities to the Production Team. The purpose of the Production Scheduler is to create an achievable production schedule through coordinating the inventory needs of the Distribution Center, timing of incoming raw materials, and plant production capacities.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages SAP MRP program to determine orders that need to be produced
- Reviews current stock and past sales history to determine products to be produced
- Creates work orders in SAP for purchasing to order raw materials
- Maintain safety stock on all filled inventory items to ensure demand needs
- Maintains Master Production Schedule
- Maintains reports for daily and monthly production
- Schedule production for smooth product flow and minimal changeovers
- Schedule production of products for maximize efficiencies
- Maintains a rolling two-week Production Schedule along with forecast of 30 days
- Confirms receipt of raw materials for production schedule and if not follow up with purchasing for delivery date
- Ensure labels for production are printed to distribute with work orders
- Works with Blending Department to ensure blends are timely to align with production schedule
- Check finished blends for approval before sending work orders to the floor
- Communicate and distributes work orders for daily production
- Reviews building materials for items that need to be cycle counted
- Establish and communicate the priority shipments to Customer Service and Warehouse Departments
- Enter production work orders and issue raw materials. Responsible for finished goods count and raw materials verification in SAP
- Works with production manager and production supervisor on priority of work orders
- Schedule outsourced production runs with independent suppliers
- Must comply with all plant safety guidelines
- Supports the strategic and operational direction of the business
- Additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficient in SAP MRP System
- Good computer skills including JDE and Microsoft Office -Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Prior experience in a planning/scheduling role in a blending/production environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain or Finance
