MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts and assemblies within or between departments as well as finished goods shipments in accordance with production and shipping schedule or department priorities
- Maintains the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system data to ensure timely delivery of products; reviews MRP reports to ensure all required actions are taken; creates work orders
- Establishes lead-times (quotes and orders) and lot sizes
- Monitors demand, production, and inventory to help provide timely production alternatives and makes necessary schedule changes to fulfill customer demand; monitors backorders of all assigned parts while communicating backorder information to internal departments
- Analyzes progress of production and outside processing; reviews factors which affect the product delivery schedule to identify bottlenecks; recommends actions for resolution
- Plans production based on sales forecast, current inventory levels, and outstanding purchase orders; adjusts for variations that occur
- Reviews the production schedule and verifies that required materials are available and approved by the Quality department
- Evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, availability, service support, reliability and selection
- Discusses defective goods with inspection or quality control personnel, suppliers, and others to determine the origin and take corrective action
- Determines when work orders need to be released to the production floor
- Creates and updates a weekly machining schedule and a daily secondary schedule
- Produces order confirmation forms
- Schedules Production Review meetings and provides follow up tasks to the team; attends new product introduction meetings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree in related field preferred; supplemented by five or more years' material planning experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge and understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA 21CFR820 as it pertains to the job
- Working knowledge of the principles and methods of effective project management
- Skilled in the use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Skilled in basic math including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometric construction, practical algebra and metrics
- Skilled in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently to achieve customer and quality objectives
- Skilled in working independently and following through with assignments with minimal direction
- Ability to analyze costs
- Ability to use reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing and coordinating
- Ability to multi-task while working with tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Ability to clearly communicate and understand information in English, both orally and in writing
