Job Overview:Production schedulers determine and set daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing schedules in a wide variety of industries. This role requires superior organization and planning skills, since production schedulers examine customer orders, available staff and inventory, and machinery capabilities to effectively set and manage production schedules, often for multiple lines at once.In addition, production schedulers monitor manufacturing performance and actively adjust schedules in response to equipment failures or supply shortages. They also identify opportunities to make processes more efficient and cut down on production costs through more effective scheduling.Essential Accountabilities
- Construct daily and weekly production schedules based on sales forecasts and statistical safety stock methodology.
- Understand production capability constraints to determine run frequency and sequence for each variety and pack size for each line and process.
- Balance customer service metrics with finished product inventory targets.
- Monitor finished goods inventory levels each day to ensure that target inventory levels are maintained. Perform pre-organization of production materials before the commencement of production
- Coordinate and develop production plans with the company's management team
- Create efficient scheduling processes or methods so as to attain production goals
- Generate production reports that are meant to be used for important (production) decisions
- Make decisions regarding production changes, abnormal product moves and movement of customer orders to minimize product cuts.
- Work with hourly team members, Front Line Leaders, Supervisors and Management to change production schedules in order to manage costs.
- Facilitate daily/weekly scheduling meetings with production, purchasing and maintenance to ensure alignment across all functions.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or any related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Clear, accurate and concise written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates integrity, flexibility, sound judgement and strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Must have good coordination and organizational abilities. This is needed in a bid to always deliver products on time to customers
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.

Work Environment:Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which may require special safety precautions working around moving machines in production facilities. Protective clothing or gear such as goggles, gloves and shoes may be required. Physical Demands:Work requires some physical strain such as long periods standing and walking in production facility, and lifting of moderately heavy items.
