The primary responsibility of the Production Scheduler is to represent the Company in all production planning activities for the plant. This involves maintaining a thorough understanding of the entire product life cycle including internal and external processing. Maintains status of all parts within the system and adjusts as necessary due to both seen and unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to changes in customer orders, machine breakdowns and quality concerns. The production scheduler must be able to move swiftly from one task to another and stay on top of all activity in real time.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate the creation and scheduling of shop orders to meet customer orders and minimum stocking requirements.
- Processes orders in compliance with established Customer Service Procedures and SOP requirements.
- Verify completed shop orders.
- Responsible for coding late shipments and on time delivery reports.
- Monitor orders forecast, plan production requirements and review labor & asset needs with plant management teams. Assist in planning and implementation of changes as required.
- Verify hours and minutes are entered in the time keeping system.
- Production scheduling of secondary operations.
- Proactively interact with customers/contractors to relay feedback or inquiry with regards to order fluctuations, expected delivery, or other plant concerns.
- Participate in improvement projects.
- Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and the Company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.
- Follow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and procedures and participate in the Continuous Quality process
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions in a timely manner
- Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and the Company, including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company.
The fundamental candidate characteristics and qualifications are as follows:
- High school diploma required, Bachelors' degree in business is desired; strongly preferred.
- Strong communications skills, self-motivated, self-starter and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take direction from peers and key stakeholders with no direct reporting lines
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft office applications specifically Excel and Outlook
- Understanding of the time keeping ERP system or similar ERP applications.
- Ability to build credibility and trust
- Ability to work on a cross functional team
- Knowledge of visual basic coding to automate functionality within Microsoft Excel
- Experience and proficiency in how to extract and manipulate data from any database
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders
- Ability to function as a team player and be comfortable leading meetings without authority
- Some experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
