Job Description :
Progress Container, a TRG company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to support our Winder, GA facility! The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operation of machines on the Production Floor. Oversight, management and direction of employees operating machines on the converting sideas well as miscellaneous employees involved in the production of orders.The Royal Group's mission is to provide value-added solutions to the most demanding customers.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Schedule Operators, Helpers and other employees in as cost-efficient and time-saving manner possible.
  • Ensure Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Review daily production report and address excessively long or short set ups or run times to improve efficiency and timeliness.
  • Supervise and direct Unitizer Operators, Lift Drivers unloading incoming board.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
  • Assist various Managers, including Operations Manager, Shipping Manager and Customer Service Manager in meeting our customers' requirements.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service the delivery of the customer orders on time.
  • Ensure that all orders needed for Shipping are produced in a timely manner.
  • Monitor cleanliness of Plant and plan and enforce cleaning duties assigned.
  • Safeguard the quality of the product that is shipped by being critical and rejecting non-conforming product, before being shipped.
  • Keep upper management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your department.
  • Enforce corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with the violating employees.
  • Identify employee's skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
  • Conduct new hires 30/60/90 Days Performance Evaluations plus Annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • College and/or related technical experience.
  • One year supervisory experience as a proven manager of at least five people.
  • Four years' experience in the corrugated box industry.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Speak and understand English.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish, preferred.
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the supervisor's role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.
  • Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.
