Job Description :
At West Fraser, our Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a shift of production staff to produce quality products safely and efficiently in a 24/7/365 environment. Additionally, Production Supervisors are to plan for growth and review the performance of production members, answer questions and provide counsel to members as needed, and see that adequate training, equipment, and work priorities are provided to all production team members.What you will do
    • Be highly engaged with team while coaching members to promote continual growth and development.
    • Promote, contribute to, and lead a safe working culture and ensure compliance with all Standard Safety Operating Procedures.
    • Develop and lead a culture of quality to drive continuous improvement by regularly identifying and addressing opportunities.
    • Maintain production by communicating expectations, monitoring processes, setting process variables, observing control points and equipment, scheduling and assigning proper personnel, establishing priorities, and reporting results through verbal communication and reporting.
    • Work closely with facility maintenance and engineering personnel to identify potential problems, streamline processes, and implement improvement suggestions and activities.
    • Manage teams by delegating daily tasks and developing programs for production with associated training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to maximize member learning, productivity, and advancement of skill level and knowledge.
    • Ensure members are trained in applying the Company's quality standards and safety policies and practices, complete performance/behavior evaluations, provide counseling for disciplinary issues, and approve payroll for designated team members.
What you will need
    • Three to five years' experience in a supervisory role within the wood products manufacturing or similar industry
    • Experienced in supervising members in a 24/7/365, continuous production environment
    • Solid understanding of industrial manufacturing environments, specifically safety, quality, and production.
    • Proactive and enthusiastic with demonstrated collaborative leadership skills
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong teams through exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to initiate and foster cooperation within and between departments.
    • Ability to deescalate tense/stressful situations while treating all members with respect and dignity at all times.
    • Proficiency in the use of various computer systems and applications (UKG, Microsoft Office, CMMS).
    • Be reliable and possess consistent and predictable attendance behavior.
