Steelscape, LLC is a national supplier of metallic-coated and pre-painted steel. Aimed at servicing the construction industry, Steelscape's products can be used for a wide range of applications from metal buildings to architectural roofing to decking and framing. Steelscape's facilities, located in Kalama, Washington; and Rancho Cucamonga, California are strategically located near major truck, ship and rail routes to service the Western U.S. market.

Job Description

The Shift Supervisor supports the Area Managers and plant in all aspects of daily operation specifically for safety, quality, production and logistics of all organic coated steel products, facilitating the daily operation activities of the plant's hourly workforce. The incumbent ensures that production goals are met, customer demands are satisfied, and all manufacturing associates work safely within the self-directed team environment. The Shift Supervisor employs leadership skills to develop teams and individuals to achieve Key Results. The Shift Supervisor acts as a point of contact and a leader in cases of emergencies.

Primary duties and responsibilities:-

* Oversee safety issues and ensure that all safety goals are achieved

* Conduct Safety Meetings with Teams

* Identify and implement corrective actions to improve safety

* Monitor and ensure safety conversations are completed

* Ensure 100% PPE compliance at all times

* Ensure all incidents and injuries are reported immediately

* Investigate all incidents and injuries. Ensure correct and timely actions are completed

* Achieve budgeted planned production targets including budgeted efficiencies, yields and variable costs.

* Provide leadership and direction to assist crews with safety, quality, and productivity issues during the shift.

* Review and analyze KPI results daily.

* Support Quality in data collection of non-conformance material to ensure proper disposition and root cause analysis.

* Supervise daily operation activities within the production lines, material movements, employee actions, and report/implement plans to improve performance.

* Review PBFI weekly and proactively work with reports to avert pending quality issues

* Motivate the workforce to accomplish goals. When necessary, collaborate with HR to address performance gaps.

* Champion and lead continuous improvement activities

* Manage maintenance and reliability tasks to ensure continuity of operations

* Manage inventory and coordinate with line schedulers

* Maximize market opportunities through low cost manufacturing by identifying cost drivers and coordinating programs and procedures to reduce costs

* Monitor training status of associates. Coordinate continuous SOP training, review and audits for associates.

* Work with production teams, Schedulers, Quality System, Logistics and Plant Maintenance to ensure that production goals are met or exceeded

Qualifications

Minimum:

* Bachelor of Arts or Science or commensurate supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Demonstrate commitment to safety and employee wellbeing

* Results oriented with the ability to balance priorities with other business considerations

* Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities

* Participative management style - advocates team concept with accountability

* Proven experience in managing, safety and environment, production efficiency, maintenance, visual management, manufacturing systems, equipment utilization, delivery performance, product quality, budget and cost controls.

* Adept in using PC tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

Pay Range: $77,211 - $115,817annually
