Our direct marketing services deliver results utilizing our in-house production, design capabilities, data and digital expertise, and fully integrated approach producing timely and cost-efficient direct mail packages for our worldwide clients.Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor plays a vital role in leading and directing the daily operations within a specific production area. This role involves overseeing a team of operators and support staff, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining quality standards, and meeting customer delivery commitments. The Production Supervisor will utilize their leadership and technical expertise to optimize production processes, troubleshoot issues, and foster a safe and productive work environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides guidance, direction, and mentorship to a team of operators and support staff.
  • Assigns tasks, implement schedules, and ensure adequate staffing levels (including overtime and weekend work).
  • Addresses personnel issues, promotes teamwork, and fosters a positive work environment.
  • Conducts performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all manufacturing activities within the MailShop department, including inserting and affixing processes.
  • Monitors and optimizes workflow to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
  • Prioritizes work orders to meet deadlines, ensures compliance with all scheduling demands and postal regulations, and monitors and controls labor costs.
  • Works with internal departments to schedule work on equipment to meet delivery dates.
  • Ensures operators perform quality checks and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implements and enforces quality standards within the production area.
  • Completes Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as needed and develops corrective actions.
  • Monitors production waste and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Engages in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and streamline workflow.
  • Communicates effectively with peers, management, and employees to drive improvements.
  • Monitors and enforce safety protocols and regulations within the production area.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of MailShop equipment (inserting, affixing, converting machines) and be able to operate it when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Google Suite, Excel) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Printstream is a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtime.
  • Physical ability to stand, lift 50 lbs., reach, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of the financial impact of production decisions.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
