Position SummaryThe Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting manufacturing production to ensure company plan objectives are met. This position will be involved in the complete life cycle management of all lean activity and manufacturing site transformation, and implementation on the manufacturing floor. The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining production and quality standards, training and managing all staff members while enforcing company policies in accordance with the company handbook. This role is based out of Springville, NY, and reports to the Plant Manager of the Business Unit.Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinating parts for assembly work orders.
  • Assuring the quality of manufactured parts and providing feedback to operators.
  • Able to complete all jobs in the shop and capable of providing relief for employees.
  • Must be able to comprehend and comply with all appropriate ISO 9001 Quality procedures.
  • Must have leadership abilities, problem solving skills, and the ability to motivate fellow employees.
  • Must be capable of completing and analyzing time studies.
  • Resolve any manufacturing problems that occur on the shop floor.
  • Maintain minimum amount of delay or downtime in the machine shop.
  • Assist in training new personnel and/or those transferred to new job assignments.
  • Coordinates the movement of parts and materials to all areas of the plant.
  • Enter schedule changes into computer.
  • Participate and engage in continuous improvement events.
  • Manage staff members with attendance, disciplinary or quality issues.
  • Monitor and enforce the safety practices of employees.
  • Perform all other job-related responsibilities and other duties as assigned by Management.
Experience and Education Required
  • High School Education required
  • Tech School preferred.
  • Leadership experience is required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
Technical Experience Required
  • Ability to use all required hand tools, inspection gauges, hydraulic presses, and air tools.
  • Able to read drawings and engineering notices.
  • Ability to use various office equipment and MS Office applications.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 knowledge preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement knowledge is preferred.
  • Previous participation or knowledge in Kaizan Events is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry or otherwise move 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Prolonged use of hands and fingers.
  • Ability to read fine print and use standard office equipment.
