Position Summary:The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the packaging manufacturing plant. This role ensures that production processes run smoothly and efficiently, meeting the company's quality standards, safety protocols, and production targets. The Production Supervisor will lead and mentor a team of production workers, coordinate with various departments, and report directly to the Plant Manager.Responsibilities and Duties:Production Management: Oversee daily production operations to ensure timely and efficient production of packaging products. Monitor production schedules, adjust priorities as needed, and ensure that production targets are met. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety standards. Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and address any personnel issues promptly. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production goals, changes, and updates.Quality Control: Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to identify and address any quality issues. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency.Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to manufacturing and packaging.Equipment and Maintenance: Monitor the condition of production equipment and arrange for routine maintenance and repairs. Work with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and resolve technical issues promptly.- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements to improve production efficiency.Inventory and Supply Chain: Coordinate with the inventory and procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and packaging supplies. Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control processes to prevent shortages or overstock situations.Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and generate reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality metrics. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide regular updates to the Plant Manager and other senior managementSkills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in packaging. Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety standards. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials up to [specific weight] pounds. Willingness to work in a noisy and dynamic manufacturing environment.
