PURPOSE

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the areas of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling the Production Department in support of the Production Department/Indianapolis Factory Mission:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Safety

q Facilitate the operation of all equipment in the Production Department to be conducive to a safe and accident free work environment. Ensure that all safety procedures or guidelines are followed on a consistent basis.

q Ensure the recognition of all MSDS related to materials used in the Production Department.

q Ensure knowledge and execution of all evacuation and emergency procedures relevant to the Production Department.

Daily Operations

q Ensure all orders scheduled to assigned work centers are completed daily.

q Key in data for productivity/quality tracking.

q Lead meetings to addressed corrective actions, quality issues, etc.

q Prepare reports regarding Production Department performance in terms of quality, on-time delivery, productivity and volume and accuracy for use in the process of continuous improvement.

q Develop and implement process improvements related to the Production Department operations.

q Facilitate effective communication with all related departments/Group Leaders regarding Production Department issues.

q Ensure all components, expensed or non-expensed, are properly stocked and that the inventory is accurate.

General Responsibilities

q Administration of attendance and disciplinary action for team members.

q Consistent application of company policies and procedures with team members.

q Administration and facilitation of team member training in accordance with Job proficiencies and other organizational requirements.

q Development of ISO documentation with team members and administration of adherence to documented procedures.

q Participation in cost control relating to departmental budget.

q Participation in employee performance evaluation process.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

q Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.

q The person is frequently required to lift 25-40 pounds or greater, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.

q The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

q A four-year degree in a related field (i.e. Technology field, Operations Management)

q Three to five years in Production, Distribution or Manufacturing supervision.

q Strong time management skills.

q Excellent communication skills.

q Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills.

q Varying levels and combinations of the above will be strongly considered.
