Job DescriptionResponsible and accountable for providing leadership in assigned department to achieve departmental and plant business objectives.Summary:Oversee, control, and direct the operations of a manufacturing facility. Manage the organization's capital, manpower, technology, equipment, and raw materials to produce a quality, profitable and marketable product. Manufacture a quality product that is cost competitive in the market place.
Major tasks, responsibilities and key accountabilities:- Manage production to ensure that products meet customer service and quality requirements.
- Incorporate Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles across plant operations.
- Manage and integrate new product development into existing operations in a cost effective manner.
- Direct initiatives to achieve cost reduction, manufacturing efficiencies, and product quality improvements for all operations.
- Maintain a maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- Ensure workplace safety and comply with legal and governmental requirements such as OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Manage the work-in-process, finished goods, and raw material inventories to maximize inventory turns and plant efficiencies, and to meet company inventory objectives.
- Administer operation in accordance with employee contract guidelines.
- Comply with corporate and company guidelines in Accounting, Human Resources, Purchasing, etc.
- Develop and implement operating plans, budgets, and profit estimates. Manage the operation to meet or better the product costs.
- Maintain and upgrade a production reporting system to manage cost, quality, scheduling and inventory at each major process.
- Provide effective leadership & development to management staff and maintain high performance work culture.
- Leads the overall manufacturing process from raw material receipt through the fabrication and packaging process.
- Manages the investment of the plant capital for maximum return and facilities and process maintenance.
- Directs and coordinates activities and resources aimed at being the best cost supplier in both relative costs and asset utilization.

- Direct manufacturing costs

Education and/or Experience- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business Administration, Manufacturing Operations, or Engineering
- 6 years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent experience
- Prior wood product or building product experience is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L results
- Demonstrated staff leadership
- Prior Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing experience
