Plymouth Tube is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious team member to join our Production team. This person must embrace change, be self-motivated, and inspire others inside and outside the department. The individual should be able to communicate directly and openly with all levels in our organization. There will be many opportunities for the successful candidate to engage their innovative and creative problem-solving skills to help move the department to the next level. It is a must that the Production Supervisor has a high degree of personal integrity in dealing with customers, superiors, subordinates, and co-workers and will represent Plymouth Tube Company in a professional manner. The successful candidate will live both in the big picture as well as in the details, desire to make an impact, and work well in a team and individually.
ABOUT THE JOB:
This position will be responsible for safety, managing movement of products through the facility, ensuring maximum productivity, fostering a workforce that is focused on continuous improvement, and overall day to day operational supervision.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
* Ensuring movement of materials and products through facility stays on schedule and manage overall day to day operational tasks.
* Actively engaging in problem-solving issues that will negatively impact production operations.
* Actively promote a safe working environment for all employees by identifying un-safe behaviors / activities and implementing safe work practices / procedures.
* Communicating with others in the organization to coordinate operations and activities between departments and ensure overall direction of the organization is understood by front-line employees.
* Scheduling and overseeing daily completion of PPMs for production equipment, notify maintenance of equipment breakdowns and properly assigns machine operators daily to ensure a timely completion of orders.
* Assisting with continuous improvements of processes leading to improved safety, quality, yields, delivery performance, productivity, and cost control.
* Enforcing compliance with applicable policies, safety rules, plant rules and contractual commitments.
* Promoting working relationships will foster a high level of employee morale.
* Completing performance reviews for direct reports to communicate individual and company goals, individual job performance, and developmental opportunities.
* Interpreting specifications and job orders to employees and assigning duties.
* Performing other duties and assignments as assigned.
* You will own and role model Plymouth Tube values and behaviors by embracing and participating in an operating culture that promotes involvement, communication, mutual trust & respect, expectations and accountability, and a passion for excellence.
* Understanding, apply and advocate all Company Environmental and Safety policies, procedures, and standards.
* Understand, apply, and advocate all Company Quality Standards.
* Attend all prerequisite training as required by management.
* You'll have the authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety, or environmental problems, and to promptly notify Supervisory personnel when processes are non compliant.
* You will supervise 5-30 hourly union production workers.
* Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree preferred (BUT A DEGREE IS NOT REQUIRED) High school degree required and 1-3 years minimum work experience in a manufacturing facility preferred and or training, or equivalent combo of education and experience.
You'll also need experience as a previous Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
