SUMMARY:The Production Supervisor is responsible that food is produced efficiently and in a safe, clean environment. The Production Supervisor is a member of the management team and has direct supervisory responsibilities of production personnel. The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing SSQE (food/work safety, sanitation, quality or efficiency) and Operational SOP Management. The Production Supervisor will assist the 24-hour Team to maintain plant quality standards, as well to uphold plant maintenance standards. The Production Supervisor will coach, and train production associates as needed to achieve results. This position operates on an overnight schedule, requiring flexibility to work during late-night hours.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct, plan and coordinates work activities of employees. Trains, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance. Counsel, record and discipline as necessary.
- Interview and recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, and firing as needed.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals with production scheduler.
- Confer with other team leaders and managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve employee problems and/or complaints.
- Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for employees in conjunction with HR.
- Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Demonstrate equipment operations, work, and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations. Ensure all employees are properly trained before using any cleaning chemicals or operating any equipment (i.e., fork truck, etc.) in conjunction with the safety coordinator.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, other records, and reports in order to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Works in conjunction with Quality Control. to observe work, monitor check sheets, test sheets, temp. charts, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Maintain operations data such as production reports, downtime logs, material usage and lots, and prepare management and production reports.
- Ensure standard operating procedures, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
- Requests materials, supplies, equipment parts, repair services, PMs and work orders.
- Responsible for bi-yearly in-charge testing and yearly pay evaluations of team members.
- Maintains production documentation, employee documentation and sets and explains expectations of KPI's to the team.
- Works with the 24-hour managers towards continue improvement plans.
- Supports continuous improvement, initiatives in the facility and participates to ensure success.
- Train new hires.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree with two (2) years Supervisory related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or written.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others.
- Advanced computer skills and ability to operate other electronic office equipment (Time and Attendance records).
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification and certified as a First Responder.
