Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the construction of factory-built housing within a manufacturing plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Examines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure.
• Studies production schedules and assigns employees as required to meet production schedules.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Calculates time card totals and production records.
• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
• Sets up machines and equipment.
• Must be able to communicate and enforce procedures from outside of production - works closely with HR on any and all personnel issues/changes
• Will be responsible for timesheet approvals and personnel communications
• Must be able to enforce all policies/procedures - attendance, disciplinary, safety, etc
• Must be able to recognize safety issues/violations and correct them - may need to conduct an investigation or handle on the spot
• Must lead by example and be able to demonstrate and ensure accountability
• Will need to conduct accident investigations and follow up with consequences if needed
• Must be quality focused and be able to effectively communicate with RTS, Quality and Service to comply with requirements
• Must be able to coordinate and communicate with Purchasing regarding scrap reports, shortages, damaged materials, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the plant. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

• Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels
• Strong leadership skills
• Must have good people skills - must be able to communicate, coach and discuss things with employees when applicable
• Must be able to assist in timesheet approvals, onboarding and termination processes
• Must be able to follow and enforce procedures
• Effective planning and scheduling
• Acute attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Excellent attendance record
• Ability to effectively communicate with all Supervisors and Managers
• Must be able to count with accuracy

Education and/or Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment or equivalent. Experience in Manufactured Housing is preferred.
