Job Title: Second Shift Production SupervisorLocation: Kaufman, TXReports To: Production Manager

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Second Shift Production Supervisor to join our client's team in Texas. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our second shift production team, ensuring that all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. This role will involve managing the production process, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead the second shift production team, ensuring all production goals and timelines are met.
  • Ensure that all fabrication processes comply with safety standards, company policies, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee the daily activities of workers, including welding, cutting, assembly, and finishing operations.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust workloads as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality control, and logistics teams to resolve any issues and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Enforce adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff to improve productivity, quality, and morale.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, coordinating with the inventory team to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Prepare and maintain shift reports, documenting production performance, issues, and any corrective actions taken.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in production supervision, preferably in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, and assembly techniques.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with production planning and scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move up to [X] pounds as required for the role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes challenging environment.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant with exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Safety equipment and protective gear will be provided and must be worn at all times.
