Overview

We are seeking a Senior Production Support Engineer & Java Developer to join our dynamic team. This position is pivotal in maintaining the reliability, performance, and scalability of over 30 critical applications. As a senior member of the team, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing mentorship to peers and taking a leading role in managing production incidents and supporting Java-based applications in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. Your innovative mindset and proactive problem-solving abilities will be crucial in driving automation initiatives and improving operational efficiency.

You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to resolve production issues, troubleshoot incidents, and develop solutions to eliminate recurring problems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in production support, Java development, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Production Support & Maintenance: Take ownership of production support for Java-based applications, responding to incidents and alerts in real-time, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining high service availability.
• Incident Management: Quickly analyze and resolve critical incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., EOCC) to implement effective resolutions.
• Code Analysis & Debugging: Provide code analysis to diagnose issues and translate technical details into business-friendly language to ensure clear communication with stakeholders.
• Automation & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks, streamline operations, and eliminate recurring issues, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a mentor to junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to understand their needs, provide status updates, and ensure prompt resolution of queries or issues.
• Application Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the application architecture and workflows to effectively respond to and resolve business queries and technical incidents.
• Tool Utilization: Utilize tools like ServiceNow for incident tracking and resolution, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses to user requests.
• Business & Technical Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of business issues, providing technical solutions, and interacting with both internal and external stakeholders to drive resolution.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development, with a strong understanding of application support in a production environment.
• 5+ years of experience with Spring Boot
• Familiarity with Kafka and MQ is desirable.
• Experience with PSO tools/ServiceNow for incident management (5+ years).
• Prior experience in the healthcare or PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) industry is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Technologies (AWS, PCF, OpenShift) and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Ability to manage critical production incidents and work under pressure to meet high customer support expectations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in agile development and using Jira for task management.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent teamwork and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare/PBM Experience: Familiarity with healthcare applications, particularly in the Pharmacy Benefit Management domain, is a plus.
• Automation & Scripting: Experience with automation tools and scripting to optimize workflows is highly desirable.
