New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.As a Production Support Specialist II, you will be part of a hardworking team of technicians, engineers, program managers, and specialists, supporting the system prototyping & rapid development of different programs within our Advance Manufacturing Division. Responsible for inventory control, logistics, expediting, and other support functions to ensure our team has what we need to be successful with our current and future commitments.Relocation providedTravel expected up to 10% of the timeShifts available: A shift Mon-Thur 5am-3:30Responsibilities:Requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory, tooling, consumables, and other assets to technicians and operators.Continuously monitor and respond to technician parts needs, including replacements for non-conforming parts, delivery of fasteners and shop stock, moving assemblies to inventory or to the next work center, and other similar duties as requested.Work cross-functionally to expedite any material shortages.Enter material transactions in ERP system.Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.Prepare for, conduct, and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts.Maintain clean and safe work areas following company policies and industry best practices (5S).Must be able to work well with others, take direction and execute swiftly, be mindful of process improvement opportunities, and be able to problem solve.Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers.Based upon job duties, may need to work in various areas that may cause exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.Operate various equipment in support of daily operations. This includes but is not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables, etc. to ensure safe hardware handling operations.Assist in the implementation of a robust materials management process that reflects best practices, to include material purchasing, handling, storage, control, and distribution of MRO inventory.Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production Control to ensure work completes on time to schedule.Aggressively enforce safe material handling practices.Qualifications:High School Diploma, Accredited GED, or equivalent vocational certifications or training.2+ years of Inventory Control, Tool Crib, Material Handling, and/or Expediting Experience.Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and/or inventory control applications.Experience working with a cross-functional team.Demonstrated understanding and can apply continuous improvement concepts.Ability to safely drive a forklift and perform acute work.Ability to lift 50lbs, unassisted.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion.Must be able to pass DBIDS background check.
