Working as a member of a production team, the team member is responsible for performing tasks associated with making parts for the automotive industry. These tasks can include operating various robotic/spot welders or automated assembly machines, running presses, or working on our e-coat paint line.POSITION SUMMARY:Working as a member of a production team, a production team member is responsible for performing various tasks required to operate production machinery and assembly jobs; changeover presses and other machinery.Performs process control activities as required to maintain control of the manufacturing process; perform minor maintenance and housekeeping duties, and participates in committees or task forces to support plant operations.Production team members have the authority and responsibility to start and stop production operations, use gauges and other measuring instruments in checking production parts.Complete checklists to document the status of production parts or machinery, and to directly seek assistance from all available plant resources.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:General Statement: Participation in production teams is the foundation of the plant's operating philosophy.The team and its members are responsible for the following.
- Produces a quality part that meets or exceeds customers (internal and external) expectation through the use of approved Quality Control techniques such as process monitoring, SPC, gauges and other measuring devices and sampling procedures.
- Meets or exceeds established efficiency goals and other MOS measurables.
- Sets-up and operates machinery and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with approved procedures. Adheres to all safety regulations.
- Performs minor repairs and adjustments to machinery working within the team member's level of training and experience.
- Participates in continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, methods, and work environment through trouble shooting and problem solving exercises.
- Assists in the training of new team members.
- Must comply with federal and state safety regulations and company policies.
- Is an active participant in one of the councils or task forces and attend problem-solving meetings.
- Completes paperwork in an accurate and timely manner; includes tags, uptime reports, set-up check lists, production reports, etc.
- Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED.Ability to multi-task.Meet minimum qualifications as contained in the PSI selection process. These include achieving an average score of 5.0 or better on the assessment test, passing a physical and drug screen, and completing an interview with a PSI management representative.SPECIAL SKILLS:Computer literate.MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Team members must be able to stand on concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and use arms and hands.Visual precision is needed for reading documents, visually inspecting parts for quality, machine dial gauges, and possibly blueprints and precision measuring instruments.Front Weld & Press Areas: The team member must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and repetitively lift 10- 25 pounds from and to a height of 20-52 inches.SubFrame Weld Area: The team member must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and repetitively lift 10-40 pounds from and to a height of 20-52 inches up to four times a minute for the work shift.Paint & Containment Areas:The team member must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force repetitively from and to a height of 20-52 inches up to four times a minute for the work shift.Must be able to exert up to 55 pounds of force occasionally, from and to a height of 20-52 inches.Team members may be hired to fill specific area vacancies, however, all team members are expected to be able to work in all areas.WORKING CONDITIONS:Stamping and assembly factory environment, and subject to high noise levels from operational machines and physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
