Job Description :
The Probe Technician will be responsible for hands-on building and testing of probes. The Probe Technician will also maintain equipment and use troubleshooting skills to read and interpret circuit board specification documents. The Probe Technician will help in the effort of bringing all MadgeTech probes in house. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for operating the FP (Flexible Probe) crimping machine
  • Ability to use assembly drawings and work instructions to build all products within the probe department
  • Ability to operate all wire stripping equipment within the probe department
  • Responsible for operating test equipment that measures pressure and strength integrity
  • Ability to use arc welder and soldering irons when neededAbility to operate the lathe equipment within the probe department Inspects probes, using microscope, to detect defects, such as loose wiring and loose, split, or worn probes Observes probe through microscope and aligns probes in specified position
  • Ability to operate Kiln, solder pot, and heat gun
  • Ability to use dispensing equipment
  • Work in close collaboration Probe Manufacturing Lead to define process improvements within the probe department
  • Rapid problem-solving process, initiation and implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI)
and challenging themselves and others to continuously look for ways to do things better and more efficiently
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:Two-year certificate or degree from a college or technical school and 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experienced with the manipulation of small parts.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Electronic wiring and soldering skills
  • Mechanical ability
  • Assembly work in a manufacturing environment; where blueprint reading is required
  • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
