Job Summary:We are seeking a reliable and adaptable General Operator to join our team. This role involves rotating through various tasks across different seasons, including supporting seed crop inspection, inventory management, harvest activities, and packaging. The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments, operating equipment, and ensuring seed quality while adhering to safety standards.Key Responsibilities:September-October:•Receive and process trucks hauling crops from the field, including weighing and unloading•Assist with a range of harvest activities (e.g., husk and sort operations)•Operate dryers to dry crops according to safety, quality, and financial requirements•Handle shelling and storage of crops from bins in the dryer facility•Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed•Apply appropriate treatments to seedsNovember-March:•Label, tag, bag, and palletize seeds•Enter inventory data into the computer system•Stage seed for shipment and manage warehouse organizationApril - August:•Retag in-house seed and re-bag returned seed•Inspect and clean pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris•Wash pro boxes as necessaryKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:•Knowledge of production agriculture and plant operations•Ability to perform duties safely and efficiently while maintaining seed quality•Capability to work independently or within a team•Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs•Strong decision-making abilities in varied situationsQualifications/Basic Job Requirements:•Ability to pass a background check and other pre-employment screenings•Reliable transportation to the worksite•Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and respect for others•Willingness to work long hours, rotational shifts, and overtime as required•Effective verbal and written communication skills•Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds•Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, walking on uneven surfacesAdditional Responsibilities:•Monitor and operate field and production equipment, ensuring quality control and compliance with standard operating procedures•Maintain safety standards at all times, following emergency procedures when necessary•Rotate through various roles, including control room rotations if applicableEducation: Bachelors Degree
