Job Title: Production Worker (Helmet Molding & Helmet Surface Prep)Department: Production Reports to: Production Supervisor FLSA Status: Hourly General Overview: Production Worker is responsible for the safety, quality, and production of producing the finest sporting good products while working in a safe organized environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure compliance standards are being met.
- Read, understand, and follow all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in production supporting the manufacturing of our sporting good products.
- Read, understand, and follow all product specifications and processes supporting the manufacturing of our sporting good products.
- As part of a small Team, understand that flexibility and willingness to support activities beyond the normal job description is essential.
Helmet Molding & Surface Prep Responsibilities:
- Prepare and apply resin mixture for mold cavities and pattern application.
- Insert mold into vacuum and assemble blankets and bag for molding process.
- Remove molded helmets from cavities and inspect helmets for any defects/voids.
- Clean mold cavities using walnut blaster.
- Monitor molding process, verify specs, and record data.
- Trim helmet holes using Dremel tool.
- Sand helmet with auto belt sander and hand sander.
- Manually sand helmets with sandpaper.
- Cut helmet patterns using pattern cutting machine.
- Kit helmet patterns for molding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:
- Basic skills in math and reading measurements (fractions and decimals)
- On-the-job training
- Ability to operate machinery.
- Ability to manually assemble.
Working Conditions: Clean, organized, climate-controlled production work environment. Safety Hazards: Depending upon production department, may be exposed to dust, air borne fibers, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, and solvents. Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots, gloves, sleeves, smocks, face shields, and face masks are required while performing certain tasks. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications and procedures. Must have good verbal communication skills. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts of basic math and reading measurements (fractions and decimals) REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to recognize a situation and escalate clearly. Ability to deal with problems and contribute to problem solving.
