The opportunity:Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include stacking corrugated products, conducting quality checks, material set-up, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Ability to safely operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform duties as assigned.Ability to work safely, comply with all safety rules, lift, push or pull >50lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.Ability to read a tape measure (to 1/16 measurement, do basic math, and some computer skills.General mechanical aptitude & trouble shooting skillsAbility to perform complete make ready and shut downUnderstanding of Quality Inspection CriteriaProduct Identification and LabelingMaintain Waste and Efficiency standardsPerforms inspections on various equipment for proper operation and report questionable conditionsPerforms various housekeeping, cleaning, and organizing functions with minimal supervision to ensure areas are clean and free from debrisWhat you need to succeed:Must be self-starting/self-motivated and able to work independently.Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a sense of urgency to complete tasks accurately and on time.Good communication skills including the ability to interact with other levels of management and staff.Industrial manufacturing experience is preferred.Must be flexible on shift as overtime is requiredMust pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physicalHS diploma or GED required.Requirements:Successfully pass a Drug Screen and Physical and Criminal BackgroundProvide proof of 18 years of age or older.Must be available to work ANY shift and Overtime as needed, up to 12 hours a day and Saturdays.Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 50# repetitively and demonstrate good body mechanics.Be safety conscious, follow directions, and work safely around moving machinery.What we offer:A career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety, and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily workCorporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability, and excellenceComprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunitiesAn attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies, and potentialSmurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
