PROFESSIONAL/LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR - Horizons Engineering : Job Details

Horizons Engineering has an immediate opening for an experienced Professional/Licensed Land Surveyor to support our growing team. You could be working with a dedicated and diverse group of licensed land surveyors, civil engineers, geologists, and other technicians on a variety ofresidential and commercial boundary surveys as well as residential, commercial, resort, institutional, and energy projects throughout northern New England. This position may report to any of our 8 office locations but you must be NH and ME licensed.

Essential Job Duties:

Performing conventional and GPS computations and analysis;

Land records research;

Field crew supervision;

Ability to take field measurements and stakeout of survey projects in Horizons areas of operation;

Make boundary decisions based on Colonial Land reconstruction theories;

Prepare and seal final surveys for boundary, subdivision, site plan etc.;

Prepare engineering base maps for civil and structural design projects;

Communicate with architects, engineers, geologists, etc. in a collaborative effort; and

Coordinate with Principal Surveyor for evaluation of staffing, equipment, project, and marketing efforts.

Skills and Qualifications:

High School Graduate and Associates Degree or 5-10 years experience preferred;

NH Survey License or ability to obtain a NH licensure within 6 months required, individuals holding licenses in Maine and/or Massachusetts would be preferred.

5-10 years of professional experience in the practice of land surveying in northern New England or a similar setting; Ability to manage projects and handle client relations;

Ability to lift 50 pounds;

Ability to complete field work including carrying equipment, cutting traverse lines, and walk undeveloped sites;

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions;

Experience with AutoCAD design software including Civil3D a plus; and

Strong technical skills.
