Job Title : Professional Medical Services Provider Location : National Centers for Animal Health 1920 Dayton Avenue Ames, Iowa 50010 Job Type : Full-Time Hours Of Work : On-Site services are generally to be performed during the day shift (between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm), Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Job Overview : The primary objective of this position is to provide specialized professional medical services to support the National Center for Animal Health (NCAH) in fulfilling its health, safety, wellness, operational, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of medical care and expertise are provided to contribute to the overall well-being of the NCAH community. Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical services to NCAH personnel, ensuring the maintenance of health, wellness, and safety.
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments, examinations, and diagnosis of illnesses and injuries, and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
  • Collaborate closely with NCAH leadership and stakeholders to address health-related concerns and implement effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of health and safety programs, policies, and initiatives to meet operational and regulatory obligations.
  • Offer expert medical advice and guidance on health-related matters, including preventive care, vaccinations, and wellness programs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, adhering to all relevant legal and ethical standards.
Education & Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the state of Iowa.
  • Board-certified by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member board in their respective medical specialty, for example:
  • An occupational medicine physician shall be board-certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine.
  • An infectious diseases physician shall be board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Infectious Disease.
  • A radiologist shall be board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology or Interventional Radiology.
